It was a special privilege for us to attend the 2012 Tisch Gala last night. Our friends John and Kris invited us to join them and their daughter Nicole, who is in her freshman year at NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
At the event, there was a photo station where you could have your picture taken and email the images to yourself.
We took advantage of it …
and the champagne …
several times …
We also had fun with iTography (John’s term for taking photographs with our iPhones).
The Gala was in support of the Tisch School of the Arts, and in special recognition of Dean Mary Schmidt Campbell for her 20 years of leadership.
Students and alumni sang and danced and entertained. Tony Kushner, Alec Baldwin, and Martin Scorsese (all alumni) delivered funny and warm tributes to the Dean. Actors, singers, dancers, choreographers, directors, producers, and playwrights gave testimony to the important role the school has played in their lives – providing a foundation for creative expression and success.
For a few hours, we were part of this great stepping stone that leads the way to future excellence in the arts.
We had a fun night. We even danced. We celebrated with our friends. And we appreciated Nicole, who as a member of the Class of 2015, assures us that the future is full of potential.
live. enjoy. repeat.
