We have been enjoying a long season of magnificent autumn colours this year — some of the best I’ve ever seen.
I’m not certain why the colours are more impressive this year than other years, but suspect it has something to do with the weather. There has been very little rain here during the past couple of months.
Dan and I got our first real taste of fall colour several weeks ago when we took a day trip up the Hudson Valley.
With beautiful foliage all around us, I came to realise just how good autumn colours look on Dan.
At home the foliage has been spectacular everywhere we look.
Looking out to our back garden,
looking back at the house from our camp,
looking overhead,
and down at the ground.
Of course once the leaves are on the ground someone has to clear them away. Fortunately, Dan quite enjoys sweeping,
raking, and blowing leaves.
It’s not only during the day that we get to enjoy nature’s colours. On a recent mild evening we lit a fire in The Camp,
and once again found ourselves gazing up into the trees …
at the ever-changing scenery.
live. enjoy. repeat.
